Christmas day arrived finding me with my faithful friends big Radar and little Aspen. Much like when I was a kid, hunting on a holiday still is a real treat, especially with the Christmas present which I bought myself. What can I say? When I saw a 1890 W&C Scott and Sons 16 gauge Premier Grade featured in an add in Shooting Sportsman from Kirby Hoyt of Vintage Doubles I pulled the trigger. I received the gun in two days and had her ready for our holiday hunt!

Photo was taken on our first day of hunting in North Dakota two weeks ago. These two monster roosters made the mistake of coming too close to this one-eyed, senior citizen, passing from right to left (just the way I like them), and each barrel collected their respective target, one after the other. Double your pleasure! What fun we have!

Kirby this is from Feb of this year , gun # 1 of the pair I got from you. These are the first birds I killed with this gun, and I took gun# 2 out the next day and made some great shots on more coveys. They are the best guns I've owned, and they kill birds. Plus when the birds are not flushing I just look down at the gun and enjoy the view! "very happy customer"

You should recognize the hammer gun photo from a couple of years ago. It's been a great gun; pretty (or Purdey) much shoots where I look - always a good thing. This was my first daily limit of Sharpies. The shotshells are even Purdey (Eley) #6's

From Left this is Scott King, Jim Lampy, Jon Hosford, Allan Mack, and Gary Murphy. As I take pictures I am never in them darn it! We all had a great hunt with three of us using hammer guns. Jim shot a beautiful William Richards of Liverpool, Allan was shooting a wonderful 16g. Steven Grant with a grip safety, and I was shooting my favorite hammer gun, a Boss thumblever 16 with Whitworth steel barrels. Jim was our host on what we discovered to be the most well managed productive pheasant ground in South Dakota. Thank you again Jim! It was pheasant heaven.
